As seen on Planet Minecraft
World Stuff
The
world is similar to late triassic/early jurassic period Earth. World is
approximately 34% larger than earth, but less dense meaning gravity is
roughly the same (9.8m/s squared) As with earth, most of said planet is
also water. Uhh add continents / major landmasses later (gotta get a map
here)
Insect behaviors and such:
Most
bugs are gregarious/social, and have developed foraging habits as their
main way of getting food (aside from hunting other smaller animals,
less developed animals still exist). Bugs that are typically solitary
(eg, tarantulas, centipedes) are now somewhat communal, previously
gregarious bugs (like roaches and bess beetles) are now fairly social
with hierarchies and some culture, and already social insects (namely
hymenoptera) are very advanced with political systems and some having
writing systems.
Linguistics (really needs to be worked on, probably separate document)
Hymenrykan → Honeskyn, Apyne, Formicidan, Vespallan
<Placeholder names> Arachnid → Spider, Tarantula, Scorpion
(kind of like how english is a mash of languages in reverse, Hymenrkan split into different languages as new races appeared)
Ancient Hymenrykan alphabet is the same as English, without the letter i or the letter C. The letter Y makes the i sound.
(Hi would be spelt Hy)
Other
linguistics to work on for species such as: Bess beetles, isopods,
select species (eg ghost mantises, hellbender assassin bugs)
Probably gonna change the nations and stuff:
Different
colonies/nests of social bugs resemble different tribes, larger
colonies (like some ant colonies) would be cities and multiple colonies
working together would be states
Major landmass / Continents
Hymenryka, along with Honeskyn (hornets), Apyne (bees), Formicida (ants) Vespalla (wasps)
adrian
Technology uh kitkat will make this idfk
Most
forms of technology are localized within individual colonies/nests, or
are regional within small places (typically islands or remote areas)
Forms of tech also vary greatly by what species is making stuff, ants
typically have architecture/agriculture, social wasps have defensive
stuff and some forms of communication and uhh hornets have weaponry idk
Species/creatures:
A majority if not all bugs on this planet are essentially 1:1 of real world bugs, and will be referred to as such
Notable populations:
Carpenter
Ants, Leafcutter Ants, European Hornets, Paper wasps, Yellowjackets,
Giant Asian Hornets, Bald-faced hornets, Carpenter bees, bumblebees
Important / Notable nations, states, etc…
Miigwan and Pierre’s nest:
Relatively
large nest. Bald-faced hornet occupants, mostly isolated in a
mountainous range, fairly well off with a decent supply of food and
stuff (also miigwan keeps getting zooted)
Rudolf’s colony:
Gigantic
colony. Located near a river, with their colony tunnels being prone to
flooding occasionally, but their ant queen is too lazy to do anything
about it (i mean rudolf isnt complaining)
European hornet nest that also has Xinan in it:
Moderately sized, located near Rudolf's colony. Fairly militarized with some additional bugs in there every now and then.
Random ass compound where Anzac came from:
Small population, in a rather harsh environment. Mostly centipedes, with a few others that come in and out every now and then.
