Thank you for actually looking into the game and its image import system! As far as I know, Sporepedia requires an account, which I don't have, and diversity in places where they could be uploaded (Minecraft itself has a lot of sites for accessing skins, including but not limited to Skindex, Novaskin and of course our beloved PMC) may be a good thing. I was about to add the planet but went down the rabbit hole of how the game exports 128x128 .png files with encoded data allowing them to be imported into the game again with just the .png. Very cool. There's encoded title, classifications, categories, creation date, author and more.
I would want to support the encoded data as well as possible to auto populate the upload form and of course preserve the .png encoded data for import purposes. I want to support it despite there being an official sporepedia with 191 million creations!
I'm going to need to gauge SBG interest more before devoting the time though. -
