Propose a New Planet
Sandbox Galaxy is designed to grow.Over time, new planets will be introduced, each centered around a sandbox, survival, or creative game that brings its own tools, styles, and communities into the galaxy. This thread exists so you can help shape what worlds come next.
Whether it is a game you already love, one that is gaining momentum, or a creative sandbox you think deserves a home, this is the place to suggest it.
What Is a Planet?
A planet is a dedicated hub for a specific game or creative sandbox. Each planet can support:- Game focused content such as builds, skins, mods, maps, models, resource packs and blogs
- Discussion and collaboration
- Events, challenges, and shared discovery
- A community identity you can follow and participate in
How to Propose a Planet
Reply to this thread with the following. No need to be formal.- Game Title
- Why it belongs in Sandbox Galaxy
Creative depth, building tools, modding potential, or community appeal - What kind of content you imagine people sharing
Optional but helpful
What Happens Next?
Not every suggestion will become a planet right away. Some ideas may:- Spark discussion and interest
- Be revisited later as the galaxy grows
- Influence future expansion plans
Think of this as planting seeds. Some worlds are already forming. Others are waiting to be discovered.
Thank you for helping shape the future of Sandbox Galaxy.
We are excited to see what worlds you want to explore next.

Cross-platform, Open-source, pixel-esque and addictive, factory sim/tower defence. Mods are really easy to make and creativity is endless
Could share builds, processor scripts, mods, or maps :D

that game is amazing
Black Mesa?
how are Pokémon Pokopia and the Dragon Quest Builders series still not on sbg
Can’t believe I hadn’t thought of this til now, but Animal Crossing! There’s already a site called Nookazon for setting up trades, but it could be done here, too! People could also post pictures of their islands and share terraforming tips, as well as villager house placements and island decorations! Could also have island dream codes and links to Nookazon profiles or something- I dunno how it would work, but yeah :D
portal 2: community edition, it just came out in open beta a couple days ago
Discovered a new and really interesting one! Not a sandbox, but the way they handle exploration, decoration, personalisation, storylines, quests... It's amazing. And brilliantly coded, it rewards decisions and never really pusishes. It's excellent for hoarders that are affraid to part with stuff (talking about a friend here!), because the game will help you constantly with what you need, while pushing you towards using more options in your gameplay and if you experience a bug or a glitch (duplicating something but not able to replicate it after that, customers that keep asking for a tiara that's long gone - I had forgotten I could buy them too, buying 1 made them stop) it's feels intended as rng or luck based outcome, so I'm not sure if they are bugs at all...
I also see a beautiful minigame for Hytale in it :D
There's a lot more I could talk about, but check it out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2407830/Trash_Goblin/

Nice work on creating fun for adults without having to worry about minors ^^

Team Fortress 2?
Genshin impact planet please. I have way to much (around 38) photography pics and even more screenshots of the game. Also it would be nice to post hidden areas and such, maybe even quest guides, serena teapot builds, wishing results etc.
S&box
Half-Life 2, since it has workshop support
Portal 2
we can link our test chambers here

Spore (Steam link) Yes, the 2008 game where you guide your creature from a cell to master of the galaxy. The game has two DLCs: Creepy and Cute part pack (obvious content) and Galactic Adventures, which allow the player to create their captain and embark on adventures, which can also be modified. Uploading is also really easy since most of not all of the modifiable content is contained within an image.
Here is the full list of modifiable content:
• Cells
• Creatures (Animal [Early, Default], Sentient [Tribal, Civilized, Space, GA only: Captain]. Sentient editors cannot add, modify or remove biological parts from the Animal editors)
• Vehicles (Land, Water, Air, Space - Space has access to all parts, each of the rest have a section of exclusive parts)
• Buildings (House, City Hall, Entertainment, Factory - each have a section of exclusive parts)
• Anthems (very niche editor, only used for Civilization and Space stages)
• Adventures (GA only)

Total Miner - Steam Link
Total Miner started as a small indie game on the Xbox Live Market as a way to play a Minecraft style game before console edition released. Despite Minecraft eventually releasing on console it remained popular and is being worked on today. It includes many creative tools and systems for building complex and unique worlds. Some of these features are easily shared such as in game scripts (made with a unique in-game language or lua), "Components" which can be saved on one world and reused and shared, and NPC behavior/dialog trees which are also able to be exported and shared. The game also features a modding api where users can create simple NPC/Item mods using XML files and Components or in-depth game changing mods using C#.
I know I kinda answered the last part already but here is a simplified list of items that would be easy to share:

I have a good number of worlds I have made on TM, you can see them on Steam.
Thanks for sharing them with us!
Dunno, but it feels like half of the pmc crew are big utdr (undertale and deltarune) fans
some would say they could be separate, but the community overlap is such that they'd be better (i think bigger and stronger) as one
perhaps we'd want to get that fan content off of other planets onto one of its own?

What would be shared on Planet Undertale / Deltarune?
there exist thriving fan art, theory, and meme creation communities on the likes of twitter
the fans have a severe obsession with theories to the point where the creator added a secret boss making fun of us, not to mention the massive modding and art community, other than that its not really a sandbox but it would be nice
Timberborn! How could I forget. In this game you help a population of beavers repopulate and restore the ecosystem after humanity's demise. Members could share their Beaver-towns, maps and mods. 🦫

Whoop! The beavers are pleased 🦫

Factorio, top-down conveyor belt spaghetti with alien isopod enemies. I imagine members would share their bases and optimizations. It's multiplayer too, so members could connect and play together.
Avorion, galaxy explorer! You can build ships, bases and fleets. Like my fleet of fish: Betta Battleship, Pufferfish Hauler, and this 🐟

And has been mentioned, Animal Crossing (NH). Players create wonderful islands and can visit each other's too! SBG could be a sweet platform to connect.

PS Does Dungeons & Dragons count? 👀
Hmm, help me visualize what that would look like in terms of content types to be shared with the community?
It's a bit of an out-of-the-box thought. 😅 It's a TTRPG and not a digital sandbox. But of course, in some way, the ultimate sandbox.
There's a whole community of people who write adventures (campaigns, one-shots) and lore, make mini's and terrain (model, 3D print, paint), craft dice and gadgets, design characters, invent items and monsters, tell stories. Probably/possibly not the best fit for SBG but a big creative game community for sure!
PS ETA: and maps! Top-down grid or hexagon tabletop maps for printing or digital screen.

Teardown seems like a pretty good candidate. :D

bre
TerraTech (Both 1st and 2nd game)
- It's an open world game where you create your own vehicle by land, air, and sea. Just as ohio920dagamer said, it's a fun game especially if you like to tinker with vehicles. There are variety of weapons and tools you can use for shooting down other tech or for gathering resources, and some of it cannot be access until you finished some of the mission (unless you got the DLC to test your tech in creative mode). Everyone can share their tech creations including stationaries/structures. I haven't played the 2nd game, but I heard some features from the 1st game haven't been added in it.

Spore (Very old game)
- A Sandbox game where you create your species and evolve it until it reaches certain stages (Cell, Creature, Tribal, Civilization, Space). For each stages, you can customize the appearance of your creature, their tribal outfit, the vehicle and structures of their civilization, and the spacecraft you're going to use to explore around the galaxy. There's also a DLC feature where you can explore planet and do mission. Everyone can customize their own mission for players to play too.
